Word on the street was there were to be some street performers and other activities but we sure didn't find any of that action. So we did the only thing left...we went for supper!
We ate at the Driftwood. Cheri and I ate there last year when we passed though with MINI Takes The States so we knew it was pretty good. I had perch and the girls all had pasties. That's pronounced past-ees so don't think we were up to no good. It is an Upper Peninsula food that is sort of like a meat pie. They sell them everywhere...including out of the backdoor of many homes. If you need to know more you can look it up but this is what Cheri's looked like:
Ma'am, I see your pastie is as big as a plate!
Some local beer. This is Widow Maker by Keweenaw Brewing
Cheri makes friends no matter where she is.
We walked around a little more and then called it a night. During the summer St. Ignace has fireworks every Saturday night. We are far enough west that sunset here is a little later than in Northeastern Ohio so the fireworks did not start until about 10:15. They were very close to our hotel and we could watch right from our room's balcony. There was a full moon shining on St. Ignace Bay and it was actually very pretty. Once that was over enough was enough and we packed it in for the night.

Today we are headed to Sault Saint Marie and the Soo Locks!!
Hopefully you also had the UP staple: beef jerky.
